Kalista at the age where everything she says is cute.
I swear everyday I can't wait for Tyson to get home because there's so many stories I want to tell him!
I just found this new blogger app. That way I can share the stories on here and we'll have them forever!
I'm starting right...now!
Haha
Tuesday January 22nd 2013:
We stopped at Carls Jr to satisfy my intense malt craving. I got kali fries (and apparantly only 1 chicken nugget because the people that work there are smart. Ha)
She refuses to wait until we get home so I decided to hand her a fry every now and then (I swear I do feed my child healthy food most of the time...haha) here's what happened:
Everytime I would hand her a fry, within 5 seconds she was signing and saying "more" (which sounds like "mohwa") before she was even close to being done. I'm driving and she's eating those things WAY too quickly.
Me: "Kali slow down"
Kali: [mouth full of food] "mowha"
Me: "just a second"
Kali: "mohwa!"
Me: "Kalista, you need to slow down"
Kali: "mohwa!"
[I ignored her this time, because her mouth is still full]
Kali: "moooooomm!! mohwa!"
Me: "Fine"[unable to resist because she's way too cute, I give her a fry]
Kali: "GEEEZ!!"
Haha
Friday January 25 2013:
I was washing all of the towels today. We had to leave and the towel we usually put in the dogs kennel wasn't dry yet, so I grabbed one of Kalis old, not very nice looking, blankets and put it in there instead. When she realized what I was doing she ran over to me and started telling "no!!" And crying, while trying to take it out. It's safe to say she's going to have a difficult time sharing any of her stuff with her new sister! ...but it was really cute to see her so protective of her blanket!
Saturday January 26, 2013
We were driving home from dinner and the car in front of us stopped suddenly to turn, so Tyson hit the breaks harder than normal and Kali goes "woah! Stop!"
Haha
Hopefully I'll be able to post this once a week and I'll remember to write down more stories. She DOES a lot more than she actually SAYS and they're funnier to actually be there for than to hear, but I'll do my best to post as much as I can remember!
(I'm doing this on my phone too so I hope there's not too many grammatical errors!)
It's been so hard to stay updated the past few months.
Our computer is pretty much trash and using it is one of the most frustrating things to even try to work with.
So I've currently hijacked my mothers computer to give a quick update.
Kali is now 20 months old.
I realized a few days ago that in just 4 months she's going to be 2!!
This girl is growing up so fast!
Her talking is excelling so quickly.
I really don't think I'm going to be able to remember everything that she is saying, but she's beginning to speak in like 2-3 words sentences. Mostly reapeating what we say!
She says: mommy, daddy, oma, opa, Kay-kee (for Kaitlyn), Em, Bree-Bree, Dall (for Dallin), Casey, Jo (Joey), Gama, Gapa, no, yes, okay, I love you, more, some, sippy, bye bye, amen, night night, seesee (for lucy my parents dog), puppy, doggy (we just got a dog...more about that in a minute), bath time, potty, poopy, nom noms, yeah yeah yeah (singing a song), HI STINKY (in the most excited voice ever. haha), Thank you, please, sorry, sissy, hayee (Hayleigh), baby and much more!
She is so dang funny. She makes us laugh every day, all the time.
She is getting mostly better at listening and she loves being the center of attention.
I just love her little personality SOO MUCH!!
I'm currently 18 weeks prego and besides epic heartburn and extreme fatigue,
I'm feeling pretty great.
I still throw up every once in a while,
but all in all I'm feeling good.
We have our 20 week appointment/ultrasound on monday
(we'll be 19 weeks by then)
and we're super excited for that!
Not much more to report there.
haha
Last week,
my husband called me.
He said that his coworker called and that his sister was looking for a home for her dog.
She was moving into an apartment that didn't allow pets.
He's a 4 month old chiuahuah (sp?).
Tyson and I previously agreed that since it didn't work out with our last dog milly
*sniff* (we had to give her away just weeks after getting her)
that we wouldn't get another dog until we were 100% about keeping it and until we had a fence.
So believe me when I say that I was NOT for getting him at all.
I have been attempting this post since December 27th!
However,
everytime I would write the entire blog (which I did 3 times!),
I would then wait for the video to upload,
come back an hour later and the computer had frozen up and deleted everything!!
So after a lot of huffing and puffing,
I just decided to upload it to youtube.
I would have done THAT a couple of days ago,
but we all got sick here and it was the last thing I've wanted to do!
Now,
even though I'm still coughing and my throat may or may not be raw to the core,
I'm finally getting around to it!! haha
SO now that it's January 1st,
Happy New Year!!!
This past year has brought on a lot of ups and downs,
but the ups, have been SIGNIFICANTLY greater than the downs,
so there's no complaining over here!
The 2 greatest things of 2012 were:
Buying our very first home!
and
Finding out we're Pregnant again!
We're so excited to see what 2013 has in store for us!
Now,
to the reason for this post!
This Christmas we learned the Gender of baby #2!
I was told a couple of different things about my due date,
but the one that seemed the most accurate was that I would be 14 weeks on Christmas day!
They say the earliest you can tell is at 14 weeks,
so we called Fetal Studios and asked if there was any way we could come in on Christmas Eve.
We would be 13.6 weeks that day but we really wanted to open it in front of our families on Christmas Day!
They were more than willing to do it for us,
so on Christmas Eve,
we headed to the mall!
Tyson and I were so excited...
then 2 hours before our appointment,
Tyson was called into work.
We were so disappointed,
but my little sister Emilee agreed to come with me instead.
We tried pushing the appointment back another hour,
and they let us...
but Tyson was still unable to get there in time.
We were so bummed.
I was so glad my sister was willing to come though!
So the Ultrasound tech started the video and it's always so incredible to see that there is really a baby in your belly!
The baby was moving around and being so cute!
I asked the tech to tell me to close my eyes before typing the gender on the screen because I didn't want to find out until Christmas.
Sure enough,
she gave me the cue...
but I quickly looked for myself to see if I could figure it out...
because I of course am no professional and knew I wouldn't be 100% sure.
I took my guess and then closed my eyes.
Emilee talked me in to letting her look,
swearing that she wouldn't tell a soul until after we found out.
So she knew the Gender before any of us!
After the Ultrasound,
the Tech put the picture of the Gender in an envelope and we were on our way!
after saying goodbye to Emilee,
I met up with Tyson and my other little sister Kaitlyn and we headed to build-a-bear!
The plan was to give the Envelope to the Build-a-bear staff and have them make a bear according to the gender of our baby (I got this idea from my good friend Kristi. She did it to find out her babys gender!)
However, on the way there, Kaitlyn told us that she would buy the bear,
if we let HER look at the gender and build it herself.
How could we arge with that?
haha I mean really?
After threatening Kaitlyn with her life,
she swore she wouldn't tell a soul either.
The next day,
which I swear...I was having such a hard time waiting 24 hours for!
haha
We learned the Gender of baby #2!
(I cannot for the life of me figure out why the video looks like this on youtube! The quality is fine everywhere else, but the minute I upload it to youtube..it does this! Technology is not my friend. haha You can see and hear the gender just find though so oh well! sorry about that)
Before the ultrasound,
I was convinced that I was having a boy.
This pregnancy has been so different,
I have been significantly LESS sick this time around,
I've also been a lot less hormonal,
and the only times that I've been miserable are the two times that I've had some other virus.
I just have felt so different this time around.
I just KNEW it was a boy.
But after the Ultrasound,
after I 'guessed' for myself,
I changed my mind.
What I could see, was definitely a girl!
and I was right!
Baby #2 is another girl!
I'm so excited the Kali is going to have a little sister!
When we started talking about having another baby,
we also started talking about names that we liked.
We decided on a boy name immediately and were set on it.
another Girl name however, we were having a hard time settling on one.
We had one picked out that we both liked, but we weren't positively set on it.
Well, after talking about it and thinking about it knowing that we're having a girl for a few days,
we decided that we really like it and now we're for sure set on it!
Baby Girl #2's name is going to be
Hayleigh Rochelle
(pronounced like Hailey)
I'm not usually one for spelling names so differently,
but since I was young, I have always loved this spelling...mostly because Leigh is how you spell my middle name (pronounced lee).
Because of that we're making the spelling a little more unique...but I like it!
As far the the middle name,
we are big for having the middle name of all of our kids have special meaning.
Rochelle is my mother in laws name and we love her!!
Kalista's middle name is Jean and that is my moms middle name.
How cool of it that both of our girls are named after each on of their grandmas?
YAY!
Due date is June 25th.
I'm so excited to begin the planning for another girl!
- has the wierdest fetish with toes I've ever seen. She's constantly trying to suck on everyones toes..it's weird. haha
- She says "Woah" "Wow" "spaghettios" but it sounds more like "sa-geg-o" haha "bye bye" "Opa" "baby" "what's that" "Lucy" (which is my parents dog name) and it sounds like "Seesee" "cheese!" when she sees the camera and lots of others words but I can't think of them all!
- She can say "woof" like a dog "Meow" like a cat and "hoo hoo" like a monkey
- She loves taking baths
- She tries to sing to songs that she shakes it too
- She loves drinking out of water bottles
- She's usually a VERY good listener and understands most of what we say to her
- She still doesn't understand who mommy is. She still thinks I'm Andee.
- She sleeps 12-14 hours a night!
(she was a minion for halloween ;)
- She is really good at keeping herself entertained and could play in her room for hours by herself!
- Gives the best kisses ever while even saying "Mah" when she does it!
- and she found out last month that she is going to be a big sister!!
I'm just in awe with her. we love her so so much!!
It was there that I began to realize that I was more on edge than normal.
When we were in the car on the way home,
My poor husband was bugging me.
For no reason at all.
He wasn't saying anything that would put me on the defensive,
he was in fact, in a good mood and was attempting to talk to me about the party.
I wasn't feeling very well, but that didn't have anything to do with why I was so on edge.
I tried my very best to not show him my annoyance to everything around me,
and when we got home, despite my nausea, I immediately left for work.
I was working a graveyard shift that night and had to be there by midnight.
As I was leaving our neighborhood I began really thinking about what was going on.
Although, in the past 3 weeks, I'd taken 5 pregnancy tests
(we started trying for a baby last month),
I decided I might as well stop at Smiths and grab a pregnancy test.
I was going to be a little early to work anyway and maybe that would help me understand why I was feeling this way!
After purchasing the pregnancy test,
I decided to just try to take one before heading back to work.
SO,
I went into the bathroom and attempted a test.
WELL,
I didn't need to urinate because I had gone before I left my house.
haha. Despite my efforts I only was able to produce a few drops...which unfortunately left me with a pregnancy test that I was sure I had wasted.
Since I had two tests,
I just decided I would wait until later that night to take the last one.
I put the one I'd convinced I'd ruined back in it's wrapper and into the box and headed to work.
While sitting at a stoplight,
I decided I might as well see if the test had showed any results at all because MAYBE it hadn't registered any and I could still use it.
(I know..I'm weird..haha)
So I took the test out of the wrapper and to my complete and utter shock,
there was a clear + sign...
I began laughing hysterically because there was NO WAY that small amount of urine could produce a positive result. NO WAY!
So I called my good friend Andi, who had just had a baby herself and told her the story.
She insisted that there's no way you can get a false positive and that I was indeed pregnant.
I couldn't believe it!
I couldn't wipe the smile off my face because I really was convinced that I wasn't pregnant after the 5 negative tests I'd received!
A few hours after getting to work,
I had to use the restroom again so I took the second test and I'm not even kidding it didn't even take 30 seconds for that + sign to show up on the test yet again!
I was freaking out!!
I was so excited! haha.
It was now a Sunday morning and I couldn't WAIT to tell Tyson!!
There was no way I'd be able to keep it a secret for longer than 5 minutes after walking through our door so I came up with a plan before I got home.
I took Kali and had her color on a piece of paper.
THEN,
I helped her write the words
"Guess what Daddy?!
I'm going to be a big sister"
on the paper and I had her give it to him.
Here's his response...
So I'm 9 weeks now and although I've been really sick, I haven't thrown up yet which is a record!
This pregnancy has been significantly different than the last two.
The last two I was throwing up from about 6 weeks until about 35 weeks.
I would be able to eat and when I craved stuff, I would really really want it, but I could eat other things as well.
THIS pregnancy,
I've been sick all day long, but I have yet to throw up.
I crave one or two specific things every day and those are the only things I can eat.
Anything else, and I mean ANYTHING else, makes me dry heave to just think about being around.
My senses are WAYY more heightened this time than they were with the other two.
I can't stand the smell of my house. like, even if it's the scent in our scentsy. BLEGH.
As of yesterday, I decided we are no longer cooking food in our house until my morning sickness is gone. I can't even go near the kitchen without dry heaving at the smell of what was just recently cooked...
haha but all I have to say is I'm not throwing up so that's good for me!!
My ten week Dr appointment is November 18th (I'll be pretty much 11 weeks by then by that's the earliest they can get me in!!)
We're so so excited to be parents of 2!
and I'm excited to see how Kali will do with a sibling :)
