Funny Story ;)

A few weeks ago,
Tyson and I went to a Halloween party.
It was there that I began to realize that I was more on edge than normal.

When we were in the car on the way home,
My poor husband was bugging me.
For no reason at all.

He wasn't saying anything that would put me on the defensive,
he was in fact, in a good mood and was attempting to talk to me about the party.
I wasn't feeling very well, but that didn't have anything to do with why I was so on edge.

I tried my very best to not show him my annoyance to everything around me,
and when we got home, despite my nausea, I immediately left for work.
I was working a graveyard shift that night and had to be there by midnight.

As I was leaving our neighborhood I began really thinking about what was going on.
Although, in the past 3 weeks, I'd taken 5 pregnancy tests
(we started trying for a baby last month),
I decided I might as well stop at Smiths and grab a pregnancy test.

I was going to be a little early to work anyway and maybe that would help me understand why I was feeling this way!

After purchasing the pregnancy test,
I decided to just try to take one before heading back to work.

SO,
I went into the bathroom and attempted a test.

WELL,
I didn't need to urinate because I had gone before I left my house.
haha. Despite my efforts I only was able to produce a few drops...which unfortunately left me with a pregnancy test that I was sure I had wasted.

Since I had two tests,
I just decided I would wait until later that night to take the last one.
I put the one I'd convinced I'd ruined back in it's wrapper and into the box and headed to work.

While sitting at a stoplight,
I decided I might as well see if the test had showed any results at all because MAYBE it hadn't registered any and I could still use it.
(I know..I'm weird..haha)

So I took the test out of the wrapper and to my complete and utter shock,
there was a clear + sign...

I began laughing hysterically because there was NO WAY that small amount of urine could produce a positive result. NO WAY!

So I called my good friend Andi, who had just had a baby herself and told her the story.
She insisted that there's no way you can get a false positive and that I was indeed pregnant.

I couldn't believe it!

I couldn't wipe the smile off my face because I really was convinced that I wasn't pregnant after the 5 negative tests I'd received!

A few hours after getting to work,
I had to use the restroom again so I took the second test and I'm not even kidding it didn't even take 30 seconds for that + sign to show up on the test yet again!

I was freaking out!!
I was so excited! haha.
It was now a Sunday morning and I couldn't WAIT to tell Tyson!!
There was no way I'd be able to keep it a secret for longer than 5 minutes after walking through our door so I came up with a plan before I got home.

I took Kali and had her color on a piece of paper.
THEN,
I helped her write the words

"Guess what Daddy?!
I'm going to be a big sister"

on the paper and I had her give it to him.

Here's his response...

So I'm 9 weeks now and although I've been really sick, I haven't thrown up yet which is a record!
This pregnancy has been significantly different than the last two.

The last two I was throwing up from about 6 weeks until about 35 weeks.
I would be able to eat and when I craved stuff, I would really really want it, but I could eat other things as well.

THIS pregnancy,
I've been sick all day long, but I have yet to throw up.
I crave one or two specific things every day and those are the only things I can eat.
Anything else, and I mean ANYTHING else, makes me dry heave to just think about being around.
My senses are WAYY more heightened this time than they were with the other two.
I can't stand the smell of my house. like, even if it's the scent in our scentsy. BLEGH.
As of yesterday, I decided we are no longer cooking food in our house until my morning sickness is gone. I can't even go near the kitchen without dry heaving at the smell of what was just recently cooked...
haha but all I have to say is I'm not throwing up so that's good for me!!

My ten week Dr appointment is November 18th (I'll be pretty much 11 weeks by then by that's the earliest they can get me in!!)

We're so so excited to be parents of 2!
and I'm excited to see how Kali will do with a sibling :)

2 years!

Tyson and I celebrated our 2nd Anniversary on Monday!

I can't believe we've only been married for 2 years.
I feel like we've just always been together.
It's weird to think about life when we weren't together.
I feel like that was all just a really bad dream.

Since we just barely bought a house,
we're a little tight on money.

SO,
we decided to just spend the day together...
and seriously it was so fun!

Tyson and I haven't had that much time together for a really really long time.
I hardly even get to see him anymore since he's always either working or going to school.
So this really was such a good day.

We were up watching "24" late the night before,
and at almost exactly midnight (just a few minutes after),
Tyson was like "Andee. Happy Anniversary".

I just thought it was cute that he paid attention and noticed!

When we woke up that morning it was just kind of relaxed.
We got to sleep in (As late as Kali would let us),
and then we got ready and brought Kali to my parents to hang out for the day.

Then...we headed over to talk to a recruiter with the National Guard.
Ahem.
yes. you read that correctly.

Since before we even were married,
Tyson has been talking about joining the military.
He's wanted to join for SO LONG...
but I've been against it.

I'm sorry but being a military wife hasn't really ever been something I've dreamed of...
but these late couple of month Tyson has seriously not stopped talking about it.
He's going to school for HVAC,
but he just doesn't know if that's what he wants to do forever.
and he doesnt' feel like he's progressing very much.

He's been so stuck on joining that I can't keep saying no.
It's messed up.
He's the one providing for our family and I feel like it's messed up to refuse to agree with him doing something that he'll actually love...so (after shedding some tears) I finally gave in a couple of weeks ago...but I wanted to go with him to speak with the recruiter because I had some questions.

We went on our Anniversary because it was the only free time Tyson could find...
and when we left, Tyson was in the process of joinig.
He's seriously so excited!
I've never seen him so excited about a job.
So as long as I look at the bright side....
I'll be able to deal with it.

I know that he'll be happy.

After Tyson joined the Army,
we went to lunch at the Olive Garden.
Then we saw the movie "Brave"
such a cute movie btw. I highly recommend it.

Afterwards,
We decided to begin a new tradition.
since we were tight on money we decided not to get each other a big gift.
Instead,
we were going to pick a store and find something in that store that reminds us of what we're experiencing that year.

So we're doing this every year from now on.
no need get buy each other an extravagant gift.
That's what Valentines day, birthdays and all of those other holidays are for ;)

We chose Hobby Lobby as our store.
It was so fun to look around...
and then I found it.

Perfect right?
a little Army guy.

Here was Tysons gift to me:
He said that he got me these because
He smiles every time he thinks about us and the family we're creating
Marrying me was a dream come true
and he's excited to soar through the rest of eternity together :)

They weren't colored yet obviously,
so we went to a park bench and colored them together.

haha.
This was seriously the most simple day together,
but it was so much fun!
Cheapest Anniversary Date EVER!

I'm so glad I'm married to my soul mate.
There was a time in my life that I truly thought I'd never find him.

Little did I know...
he was right in front of my face!
and now we get to spend forever together.

I love you Tyson <3

Kalista is 15 months old!

I know I missed last month!
We've been super busy moving and all!

So I'll try to add everything to this post!

Uploaded from the Photobucket Android App

At 15 months
-She says more and more everyday. As of today she can say "Uh oh" "Dada" "No" "Nice" "baba (for milk)" and she will say "mama" only if she wants me to hold her!
- she'll sign more, milk and all done...sometimes...when she's in the mood! haha
-She'll show us where her nose is..but only if we ask her when she's not focused on something else
- She says "hoo hoo" When we ask her to tell us what a monkey says
- She's PRO at giving hugs and kisses
-Whenever we ask her to give us a hug she'll give us a hug and then go "ooh" [because that's what we do whenever we she gives us one.]

Uploaded from the Photobucket Android App

-She loves to play chase. If I say "I'm gonna get you" She'll take off running as fast as she can.
-She'll give the cheesiest smile...especially if she knows she's getting all of the attention
-She'll speak really fast in gibberish and just go on and on...it's very apparant she's telling us a story.
- Sometimes she'll speak gibberish and then laugh at the end like she's saying something funny
-Whenever there's some sort of sitcom on TV, she'll attempt to laugh everytime the 'audience' does.
-She LOVES music still and will try to sing along when we sing
-She is obsessed with books. She'd choose a book over any toy any day.
-She's becoming a picky eater...which I was hoping wouldn't happen. haha

Uploaded from the Photobucket Android App

- She loves to clean up and 'organize'...She is always finding something that I've cleaned, makes a mess of it and then cleans it up the way she wants it. It's so cute!

Uploaded from the Photobucket Android App

-She waves bye bye whenever someone says bye, or she knows we're going bye bye
-She LOVES to go outside and waves bye bye and goes to the door when she wants to be outside

Uploaded from the Photobucket Android App

-She'll play upstairs in her room for hours on end as long as I have all of the other doors closed.
-She is officially off bottles and has replaced going to bed with a bottle, to going to bed with a book!
-She's a definite morning person and wakes up talking and playing
-She only takes 1 nap a day now instead of 2 :(
-She's beginning to throw temper tantrums
-She has the most hilarious fake cry lately that I've ever heard. She'll open her mouth and make the fakest sound ever
-She loves water. She loves to swim, play at the splash pad, sit in the bath or play with the faucet.

Uploaded from the Photobucket Android App

-I still constantly worry about her. Seriously I'm checking on her like 20 times every night.
-I'm still addicted to her and I don't think it's going to change for a LONG time!

-We're like best friends and even though I'm not important when Daddy gets home, during the day...we have so much fun together. I LOVE being a mommy!

13 months

I just realized that I never posted Kali's 13 months!

It's been crazy lately,
PLUS I don't really have a computer of my own at the moment.

SO,
I'm at work right now and I decided this would be the perfect opportunity since it's 4 am and I have nothing better to do ;)

At 13 months Kali,

- is extremely independent
- She won't eat anything unless she can feed herself.
-She only likes Bananas in the fruit category and is starting to wince at the sight of vegetables...awesome...
-She will only eat what we eat. She doesn't tolerate getting a different meal than us.
- She LOVES looking at herself in the mirror and could stare at herself for hours and be happy
Uploaded from the Photobucket Android App
-She loves love LOVES water. Whether it be bath time, swimming, sprinklers or the faucet. It doesn't matter the temperature. She goes CRAZY

-She is now to the point where she gets into EVERYTHING. When she's awake, I spend my time following her around picking up after her and taking E V E R Y   S I N G L E crumb on the ground out of her mouth.
-It doesn't matter how clean I think the floor is, she'll find something to put in her mouth.

-She loves being outside. If we're inside all day she gets very irritable. Tyson and I have started going on walks almost every day after he comes home from work...in her Wagon! It's most definitely one of her favorite times of the day.

Uploaded from the Photobucket Android App
-She's very social .
-She will talk to anyone that will listen.
-She hates having her diaper changed
-She refuses to sit in a cart/stroller for very long. She insists on walking everywhere we go.
Uploaded from the Photobucket Android App
-It's very apparent that she thinks she's a grown adult. When I'm talking with someone and we're laughing, Kali will join in and do a fake laugh and start talking in gibberish to join in on the conversation. haha it's so so cute.
Uploaded from the Photobucket Android App Uploaded from the Photobucket Android App
-She is definitely a baby that HAS to be the center of attention at all times. She needs to have some sort of acknowledgement that she's around....or she gets very angry.
-She dances to songs that we've taught her moves to
-She does her best to sing twinkle twinkle little star, singing "Twinkle" and "Star" loudly because she knows those words
-She loves to dance, sing and has a ear for music already.

We are absolutely in LOVE with her.
I seriously can't live without her. It's a known fact.

HAPPY 13 MONTHS PRINCESS!!

New home

After over 1 1/2 years of looking for a house,
we FINALLY found one!

We've been renting my sister and brother-in-laws house for the last year while they lived in Texas,
but they moved back last month.

So we moved in with my Aunt while we continued our
[what felt like a] life long search for a house.

We seriously made offer after offer,
and for one reason or another they would ALWAYS fall through.

When we moved out of my Sisters house about a month ago,
we had what felt like our 200th offer in on a short sale.

We were hoping we'd hear back soon.
we absolutely LOVED this house and didn't see a reason for not getting it...

well, lo and behold,
our realtor called us three days after moving in with my aunt and told us that the sellers had decided to just rent the house out instead of sale it...

REALLY?
Seriously!

Luckily,
there was another house that we'd been looking at that was just around the corner from that house.
We really loved this one as well, so during the same phone call,
I asked our realtor to write up an offer on this house.

THE NEXT DAY,
he called us back and they ACCEPTED the offer!

WHAT??
I couldn't even believe what I was hearing.
Was our search finally over??

Indeed it was.
We will be closing next week :)

Here's just a few pictures of our new home!

Master bathroom

Master Closet

We're so excited to live here we can hardly even stand it!

I'm addicted to my child

I need help.
I have an addiction.

I'm addicted to my daughter.
I'm not even kidding.
if I'm away from her for more than a couple of hours,
she's all I can think about and I can't WAIT to see her.

I work night shifts twice a week...
and I'm not kidding, after the first couple of hours,
I start to miss her SOO MUCH.
All I do is think about her.
I hate hate hate hate being away from her.

But that's the least of my problems.

It's even worse when I'm away from her during the day.
I mean...
at night she's sleeping the entire time.

But during the day,
it KILLS me to think about what I'm missing and I worry about her like crazy.
Unless she's with her dad,
it doesn't matter who she's with,
I have this anxiety.
I worry about whether or not she's okay...even though I NEVER leave her with anyone besides family.

Uploaded from the Photobucket Android App

Does anyone else have this problem?
because I'm really worried that it's not going to get any better as she grows.

HOW am I going to be able to let her go to school during the day??
It will just kill me and all I will do all day long is worry about her.
Kids can be MEAN!
I don't want my baby experiencing that.

Even now if she's around little kids,
It's really hard for me to be okay with it when one of those kids are mean to her.
Obviously they're at an age where they are that way,
but Kali usually isn't.

She's such a friendly baby and wants to be everyones friend...
how is it okay to let her feel sad when someone is mean to her?

Somethings wrong with me here!
I need help dealing with this because I'm going to go crazy as she grows up.

I'm addicted to my baby.
I seriously love this little girl so much no words in the world can describe it.
I just LOVE her!!

1!!

It saddens me to say,
that my sweet baby girl turned 1 year old today!

I can't even believe that it's already been a year. It's so crazy to me.
one year ago today,
our lives were changed.

I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to show her Birth Story Pictures:

May 11 2011

We are still [as it's obvious in these pictures] absolutely in love with our little princess!
She went from being a beautiful little 6 pound 7 ounce baby,
to..
A beautiful, perfect incredibly loved 19 pound ONE YEAR OLD!!

At 1 year old Kali:

~ Can walk, and walks ALL over the place. She loves this new found independence.
(sorry it's sideways...I can't figure out how to make it right side up)

~She has 6 teeth
~She still takes 2 naps a day and sleep about 11 hours a night; through the night.
~She hates when we're stuck in the house all day and needs to get out...just like her dad.
~Her favorite food is Cucumbers
~She hates any type of fruit except for Bananas
~She already believes she's a mini adult
and
~She's Miss independent FOR SURE

We honestly don't know what we'd do without Kalista Jean.
We love you SOO much baby girl!
Happy 1st Birthday!!
