Hayleigh's birth pictures

Some pictures may be offensive.
So viewer discretion is advised ;)

Getting the epidural

In the waiting area...

Looking at pictures of her new sister!

Playing with Opa

Being told it's time to go meet her new sister

I really couldn't help posting this picture. Kali's face melts me.
She was so excited!

Introducing Hayleigh Rochelle

She's Here!!!

Hayleigh was born on June 11th at 8:16 pm.
She weighed 6 pounds 6 ounces and was only 19.5 inches long.
Just a tiny little peanut.

{Kalista was 6 pounds 7 ounces, 20 inches long and she as born earlier than Hayleigh was.}

Everything about the pregnancy, delivery and recovery was SO different than the other two.
It's crazy.

I've already talked about how much easier the pregnancy was.
But because the pregnancy was so easy...I paid for it during delivery and post partum!
I'd definitely prefer it this way though because I'm miserable for a smaller amount of time.
haha

It all started on Monday June 10th.
I had been contracting for a few days but I wasn't getting my hopes up because they weren't consistently close together.

{37.3 weeks prego}
I took this picture around 1:00 pm on monday June 10th.
Afterwards we left to run some errands and around 4:00 pm I started contracting closer together.
everytime I would time them they'd be 3-4 minutes apart.
Even though they were close together,
they weren't painful to the point where I couldn't talk through them.
They hurt, but they were definitely bearable.
We stopped by Tysons work to drop something off to him
and I asked whether or not he thought we should go in when he got off.

I kept going back and forth.
I decided I would just wait a little longer to see if they continued.
So Kali and I went to Target and went home.
When we got home I made dinner and decided at that point that I wanted to go in.
If this really was labor I didn't want to wait too long because we lived an hour from the hospital.
I decided I'd prefer to have them send me home rather than me delivering in the car because we waited too long!

I was in no rush though so I played with Kali for a little bit then Tyson and I went upstairs to gather our things and we all headed out.
We dropped Kali off at my parents house and got to the hospital around 9:30.
They checked me just after arriving and I was only a fingertip dilated.
They told me they would check me in an hour to see if I had changed.
SO...I decided I was going to walk.
So we walked the whole hour and when they checked me again I had dilated to a 1.
So they said they'd check me again in another hour...and we walked again...and I'd dilated another centimeter.
and an hour later I was a 3+.

Obviously I was progressing,
so they said the 5 words we'd been anticipating
"we're going to admit you"
I would have been totally fine if they had decided to send me home at this point.
But they didn't.
They'd decided I was in early labor and saw no reason in sending me all the way back home.
We were SOO excited at this point!
We called our families, got out the video camera, and excitedly discussed what we thought she was going to look like and how big she was going to be.

By 2:00 am I was in more pain...but not enough to get the epidural.
So I just asked for some pain meds...BIG mistake!!

The pain meds they gave me completely stopped everything.
like 100%. I stopped contracting, the pain stopped and nothing was happening.

By 6:00 am the on call doctor finally decided to come in and checked me.
I had not progressed.
He then dared bring up the idea of sending us home.
haha if you know me that's a bad idea.
You don't get my hopes up, admit me, give me an I.V. and then tell me that you've changed your mind and you are going to send me home.

He told me to get up and walk around and said he'd check me again in about an hour and a half and if I hadn't progressed at all he was going to send me home.
At this point my parents were there so my dad and I ran up and down 4 flights of stairs and I walked with so much bounce that I looked completely ridiculous. haha but I was NOT going home. Not now. Not after they'd gotten us so excited like this!
When we got back to our room,
the on call Dr had changed and a nicer, more rational doctor was there. {haha in my obviously biased opinion}
He checked me and I had dilated a 1/2 centimeter.
He told me that if he sent me home,
he was sure I'd be back that night or the next day at the latest and saw no point in making me wait.
SO, he decided to break my water.
WAHOO!!
Finally we were going to get this show on the road.
Wait, just kidding.
Cause that medicine I'd been given had really REALLY slowed things down.
and after be broke my water nothing happened...
NOTHING.

I still wasn't contracting anymore.
it was ridiculous.
After 5 hours of nothing happening,
I decided that I wanted to start pitocin {which I had really wanted to try to avoid this time}
but they wanted to give me an epidural first since obviously I would end up getting one if I was going to use pitocin.
So,
I got the epidural.

Now, I don't know if it was beause I wasn't in any pain this time or what...
but the epidural hurt this time.
I CRIED this time when he did it.
It didn't bother me at all the other two times!
After I got the epidural, my blood pressure decided to start acting up and it went down to like 70/40 Which made me super tired and out of it. I think they gave me medicine to bring it up...but I don't know for sure because I was SOO tired. I just know they got it up somehow. haha

Low bp is WAY better than high bp though and it wasn't really that bad.

Once they got that under control they started the pitocin.
and it STILL took about 4 hours for me to start progressing.
It was so wierd.
Once the contractions were consistent I realized how little the epidural was affecting my left side.
I could even lift my left leg and move and stuff.
They ended up putting a stronger medicine in and it helped...but it also numbed my right side more and my right leg has never been so numb.
It didn't even feel connected to me. It was the wierdest thing! haha
by about 7:40 I started feeling pressure.
They had checked me about an hour before and I was a 7.
They checked me again and I was ready to push!
The Doctor came in, I pushed through 3 contractions and I actually felt her  come out.
I had to be told that the other two had come out with my other labors.
I don't know if it's because I had more feeling in my left side, but I felt her come out. It was crazy!
It didn't hurt it was just really wierd.
We immediately did skin to skin and she was perfectly healthy and beautiful!
She cried the most adorable cry I've ever heard.
I love her so much!

She's so beautiful and looks just like her sister!
I'm serious.
Here's proof if you don't believe me...

Not sure how you can make the same exact looking baby twice...haha but it happened!

We love her SO MUCH!
She's so perfect.

It's wierd having a healthy baby.
Kali was so sick the first 7 months of her life that it's wierd having a baby that actually poops and pees a normal amount of times...and a baby that doesn't cry!

I'm not kidding she cries when I change her diaper or when she's hungry.
That's about it.

She's an angel!

She's almost 7 weeks old now
I can't believe how fast time flies.
I want her to stay my itty bitty newborn forever.

Hayleigh's Nursery

I have finally finished Hayleigh's Nursery!

I'm really happy with the way it's turned out.
I wanted it to be really simple and calming, but to also have some color.

Thanks to Pinterest I found the perfect one!

Here are pictures:

I also finally took pictures of Kali's toddler bed and her room without the 'nursery' stuff.

I had the hardest time finding a comforter I liked, that went with her room, that didn't drain my bank account.

So we settled with this.
Not sure how much I LOVE it, but it'll do for now :)

/\ those were her toys BEFORE her birthday!

2nd Birthday Party!!

Our Beautiful Baby Girl turned two on May 11th!

I can't believe how fast she is growing.
Her personality is so funny and her speech is quickly excelling.
She is starting to really understand how to communicate I love it...and it's also really cute.

EVERYTHING she says is cute.
haha
She thinks she's a little adult, but expects mommy and daddy to still treat her like a baby and wants to stay our baby forever.

I think she understands a little that a baby is on it's way and she doesn't approve.

Anyway,
We had a Lorax Birthday party and it turned out really cute!

A lot of people came and Kali had a blast!
She got so many presents that we had to reorganize her whole room to get them all to fit
[and they honestly still don't...haha]

Here's pictures from her party...

Happy Birthday Beautiful girl!

We love you SO SO much and can't imagine life without you.
You are our entire world <3

31 weeks Dr Appointment

I haven't been able to update every time I have a doctor appointment since we don't have a computer anymore.

However,
this week my mom dad and younger siblings are in Disneyland and Tyson, Kali and Me were the lucky ones to be asked to house sit/take care of the dog while they're gone.

One of the perks of staying at my parents house for a whole week,
is that I have a working computer at my fingertips! haha

So I get to update about my 31 week appointment today.
I'm exactly 31 weeks TODAY and my appointment was today.

Everything is going well.
I'm measuring right on at 31 weeks.
Hayleigh is already behaving and is head down.
She's perfect!

I left my appointment super happy for two specific reasons.

1. I learned that I've gained a total of 6 pounds so far this entire pregnancy.  yay! so happy that I'm doing better this time.

and

2. I'm now to the point where I have an appointment every two weeks...which means I'm already almost done. SO CRAZY! By this point last time AND the time before, I was SO ready to be done and though I might die before that baby came! haha

This time, I'm not to the point where i'm just ready to be done. I'm feeling more like I'm in a little bit of a panic knowing that in 9 weeks I'll have 2 kids!

I'm taking care of my adorable nephew, Justin two times a week now which is so perfect.
That way, twice a week, I'll get a taste of how it's going to be with two kids.
Kali will also be able to slowly be introduced to having another baby around and not having all of the attention on her all of the time.

She's doing WAY better than I thought.
In fact, I think she enjoys the fact that I can't stop her from 'exploring' when I'm taking care of or feeding him. She's such a little stinker! haha

But she's going to be great big sister.
She's really not as jealous as I expected her to be.
In fact, she's such a little mommy.
She is SO concerned when he cries and does everything she can to get him to stop crying.

Here's a picture of her trying to help him stop crying while I warm up his bottle.

   photo IMG_20130426_081135_zps152a345b.jpg

It melts my heart.
a few hours after taking this picture,
I was doing her hair and he started crying again.  I was in the middle of a braid so I had to let him cry for a second while I finished it.  Kali looked over at him and said "Jussin, is okay" (she was telling him it's okay) in her baby voice.

It was the sweetest thing.

Then when I started making him another bottle,
I put him in his car seat because I was at my parents house and it was the only place I could lay him down.  I strapped him in because I knew better than not doing it with Kali around. haha

and while I was getting it ready,
Kali started rocking the car seat and when it didn't help,
she bent down and started trying to take him out!

She's such a sweet girl and I'm so proud of her for being such a mommy to him!
It makes me feel a little less worried about how she's going to respond to Hayleigh.

SO Blessed

We have been so blessed lately.
Blessings are just pouring out left and right.
I'm so grateful for everything that has happened lately.

I really believe that we experience trials and hardships so that we can appreciate it more when things are going well.

A few months ago I remember wondering why we were experiencing some of the things that were happening.
We felt so strongly that it was time to have another baby and within a month after announcing our pregnancy I swear it felt like everything was falling into pieces around us.

It was like everything that could go wrong...was going wrong.
It was not only stressful, but incredibely frustrating.

I had such a hard time understanding why we were told to have another baby,
yet it felt like now that we were,
everything was falling apart.

After a lot of hard work, prayer and pushing through,
things are finally falling into place.

Not only that,
but better than they were before and in ways that I could have ever imagined.
The past 3 weeks things have come together that I didn't even think was possible.
I have strongly felt the Lords hand in our lives the last few weeks and I've come to realize how important it was that we experienced what we did in order to appreciate what we have now.

I"m so grateful for everything in my life right now.
and I'm SO excited to see what is in store for us!

23 months

So much is going on in our lives right now.
I wish so badly that we had a computer of our own so that I could not only document it more frequently,
but also because I am feeling like my phone is full of so many pictures and videos of my child and I'm so worried that something is going to happen to it before I have the chance to put them on a CD.

Let's all just pray that doesn't happen.
That's the bitter sweet thing about smart phones...convenient, but a little more difficult to convert to a CD. Especially when videos are concerned!

Hopefully nothing bad will happen.
I would just die.

Anyway,
Kali will be 23 months on the 11th.
23 months you guys!
She's going to be 2 next month!

I just can't believe how fast time flies.
She's getting so dang big and I'm thoroughly enjoying watching her learn and grow.

She's a very independent kid that LOVES learning and exploring new things.

Her vocabulary is really expanding.
She says more words than I could count.
She pretty much repeats everything we say.

She loves talking.
She usually is speaking half jibberish/half english.
haha

 photo IMG_20130307_181911_zps6ae2c076.jpg

When she knows I'm not paying attention to her,
she'll say "Mom, Mom, Mom, mom" until I say "what" and then she will go off in mostly jibberish toungue for about 30 seconds like she is telling me something! haha

 photo IMG_20130308_094927_zps9e60b6e3.jpg

She loves shoes and clothes and looks forward to getting ready.
She's obsessed with the outdoors and is constantly begging to go outside...especially when she knows it's a nice warm day.

 photo 030813182455_zps57937478.jpg

The two movies she loves the most right now are Tinkerbell and The Lorax.
We're already planning her Lorax themed Birthday party this year.

 photo IMG_20130311_140335_zps20bf50c7.jpg

I absolutely adore watching this girl sleep.
It's the only time she is sitting still and looks so peaceful.
When she's awake she is constantly moving and doing one thing after another.
But when she's sleeping...she is so still and sound.

 photo IMG_20130317_172027_zps1946c91a.jpg

Whenever I am getting ready,
Kali HAS to do it with me.
If I'm doing my makeup she stands next to me and begs for some.

I usually give her my blush brush or something.
But then there's times where she sneaks and gets her hands on it herself.
Then she does her mascara. haha She did a beautiful job though don't you think?

 photo IMG_20130323_110815_zps418014f5.jpg
(Isn't this perhaps the most disturbing and creepiest looking Easter Bunny you've ever seen? He was nice though. He talked and gave her candy. haha so that's okay)

 photo IMG_20130325_140647_zps64869f46.jpg
She's also getting into coloring.
She got a Marker set for Christmas.
The Markers only color on certain paper. We LOVE that and she wants to color or "cauh" numerous times everyday...It's the pens that are dangerous. haha She found a pen and created some beautiful artwork on the door the other day.
and so it begins...

 photo IMG_20130327_104105_zps14a1344c.jpg
Kali is very expressive.
You tell her what face to make, and she'll do it.

She is so dang funny.

We had such a good Easter this year.
It was SO FUN to see her expression when she saw her Basket on the table.
she had money in some of her eggs because she loves putting it in her piggybank.

She's already racking up the change!
haha

 photo IMG_20130331_095317_zps913319e3.jpg

We love this girl so much.
She is SO funny. She is constantly cracking us up.

She says and does things that are so funny especially because of her age.
Every new thing she says or does is hilarious or adorable.

I think she's slowly starting to understand that there is an actual baby coming soon.
We took all of the baby stuff out over the weekend and she got her baby doll and started trying to strap her into the swing and bouncer. I am pretty confident that she's going to be jealous...but once she gets through that stage she's going to be such a great big sister!
