2 years!

Tyson and I celebrated our 2nd Anniversary on Monday!

I can't believe we've only been married for 2 years.
I feel like we've just always been together.
It's weird to think about life when we weren't together.
I feel like that was all just a really bad dream.

Since we just barely bought a house,
we're a little tight on money.

SO,
we decided to just spend the day together...
and seriously it was so fun!

Tyson and I haven't had that much time together for a really really long time.
I hardly even get to see him anymore since he's always either working or going to school.
So this really was such a good day.

We were up watching "24" late the night before,
and at almost exactly midnight (just a few minutes after),
Tyson was like "Andee. Happy Anniversary".

I just thought it was cute that he paid attention and noticed!

When we woke up that morning it was just kind of relaxed.
We got to sleep in (As late as Kali would let us),
and then we got ready and brought Kali to my parents to hang out for the day.

Then...we headed over to talk to a recruiter with the National Guard.
Ahem.
yes. you read that correctly.

Since before we even were married,
Tyson has been talking about joining the military.
He's wanted to join for SO LONG...
but I've been against it.

I'm sorry but being a military wife hasn't really ever been something I've dreamed of...
but these late couple of month Tyson has seriously not stopped talking about it.
He's going to school for HVAC,
but he just doesn't know if that's what he wants to do forever.
and he doesnt' feel like he's progressing very much.

He's been so stuck on joining that I can't keep saying no.
It's messed up.
He's the one providing for our family and I feel like it's messed up to refuse to agree with him doing something that he'll actually love...so (after shedding some tears) I finally gave in a couple of weeks ago...but I wanted to go with him to speak with the recruiter because I had some questions.

We went on our Anniversary because it was the only free time Tyson could find...
and when we left, Tyson was in the process of joinig.
He's seriously so excited!
I've never seen him so excited about a job.
So as long as I look at the bright side....
I'll be able to deal with it.

I know that he'll be happy.

After Tyson joined the Army,
we went to lunch at the Olive Garden.
Then we saw the movie "Brave"
such a cute movie btw. I highly recommend it.

Afterwards,
We decided to begin a new tradition.
since we were tight on money we decided not to get each other a big gift.
Instead,
we were going to pick a store and find something in that store that reminds us of what we're experiencing that year.

So we're doing this every year from now on.
no need get buy each other an extravagant gift.
That's what Valentines day, birthdays and all of those other holidays are for ;)

We chose Hobby Lobby as our store.
It was so fun to look around...
and then I found it.

Perfect right?
a little Army guy.

Here was Tysons gift to me:
He said that he got me these because
He smiles every time he thinks about us and the family we're creating
Marrying me was a dream come true
and he's excited to soar through the rest of eternity together :)

They weren't colored yet obviously,
so we went to a park bench and colored them together.

haha.
This was seriously the most simple day together,
but it was so much fun!
Cheapest Anniversary Date EVER!

I'm so glad I'm married to my soul mate.
There was a time in my life that I truly thought I'd never find him.

Little did I know...
he was right in front of my face!
and now we get to spend forever together.

I love you Tyson <3

  1. My best friend's husband is in the Guard. It doesn't seem too bad. He's just gone every couple weekends. He hasn't been deployed since he's been a dad, but he did go to Iraq before they met. If you have any questions on what it's like to be a Guard wife her name is Whitney McNeil. Just send her a message on facebook. She will not mind at. all. She's the nicest person in the entire world.
