Kali's Follow up Doctor Appointment

Kali had her Follow up appointment with her Urologist today.
We are happy to announce that she is doing AWESOME!
She is a completely different baby.
They did an ultrasound and it looked great.
We didn't even have to schedule another appointment!

Halle freaking lujah!

She was REALLY mad that she had to be kept still during her ultrasound,
but seemed to forgive everyone when she was given her FIRST SUCKER EVER!

Uploaded from the Photobucket Android App
(Because I'm really paranoid about her getting bad teeth, I made sure it was sugar free. ha. No sugar for my baby!)

So we're all very happy campers over here!!

Kali is such a different baby.
She is so much happier.
I just LOVE the stage she is at right now.
I seriously have so much dang fun with this little munchkin!

Mixed Emotions

Photobucket
This was Kali when I told her that she won't be getting anymore UTI's after December 6th
(at least for a LONG time.)

No obviously she really has no idea what's going on.
I just like this picture :)

We talked to the Urologist last week.
and Kali does indeed need surgery.

It's Scheduled for December 6th.

I'm SOO happy that she is finally going to get this dealt with.
Bye Bye UTI's!

On the other hand,
I'm an emotional wreck.
Before they actually said she needed surgery,
I was hoping for it because it meant my daughter would no longer have to deal with this horrible stuff.

and yeah I knew that it would be so sad,
but now that it's actually happening,
I'm starting to get really scared.

I'm so glad that this isn't any major surgery,
because I'm pretty sure I would die if it was.
I don't think I'd be able to handle it.
I can't even stand to think about handing Kali over to the Doctor and not being there for her through the entire thing.

I have to sit there for who knows how long,
while I know that my daughter has been put to sleep and being worked on.
It's going to kill me.

I can't even imagine how my parents felt when my little baby brother had to have Open heart surgery.
Or my cousins when their new baby daughter had to have brain surgery.

I'm so grateful that Kali's problems aren't more serious than this...
but I gotta say,
I'm a baby and I'm still going to worry like crazy until she is back in my arms and feeling better.

Because they are working on both sides and she's so little,
she has to stay there over night and then have 2 tubes (which I'm assuming are catheters...) coming out of her for a week.

They wanted to schedule the surgery for the December 21st.
Can you imagine?? She would still be recovering on Christmas.
So glad they changed it to the 6th.

So,
I'm having mixed emotions about this,
but all in all I'm SO GRATEFUL that this problem is fixable.
and I'm happy that Surgery will help her feel all better.

Halloween

Kali was a Ladybug for halloween.
Photobucket

The poor girls first Halloween was not a pleasant one though.

She slept in until 11:30, which I thought was so awesome...
until she woke up and I noticed how different she seemed to be acting.

She was just not herself.
She kept grunting and moaning.
She was smiling and not crying,
but she was obviously not feeling well.

She wasn't her normal, upbeat, crazy self.

I shower my Oma three times a week,
so we went there and usually when I'm doing that Kali is sitting in her carseat,
squirming, jabbering and getting mad that I'm making her sit in her carseat.

But this day,
she just sat there and stared at me.
She didn't move at all.

I almost wanted to cry because she looked so miserable.

When we got home,
I took her out of her carseat and immediately could tell she had a fever.

I took her temperature and it was 101.4.
I called the Dr and they wanted to see her right then.

So we drove to the dr and they decided to draw her urine to see if she had another Urinary Tract Infection.
He also looked in her ears.
My poor baby screamed so hard. I've never ever heard Kali cry like she did then.
She was holding her breath and everything.
She's NEVER done that.

The first results for the UTI came back negative,
so he just told me that it was probably just a little virus but to call him if her fever didn't leave in three days, but that they were going to Culture her urine and he would let us know if anything changed

I took her home and cuddled her for the rest of the evening.
She was miserable.
That is how she spent her Halloween.

The next day,
her Doctor called and said that after only a day,
the culture ended up saying that she does indeed have a UTI.

He called back the next day saying this infection was immune to the antibiotic she was on.
so he switched her antiobiotic again.

We are now waiting for her Urologist to call us telling us whether or not she'll need surgery.
To be honest,
I'm pretty set on surgery.
I'm SO not looking forward to it,
but with the way this is all going,
Kali is going to end up immune to every single dang antibiotic,
and she's going to keep getting these infections.

I have done everything in my power to try to prevent these...
I'm just so worried about her at this point.

Anyway.
Haha. This was kind of a pathetic excuse for a Halloween post.
but that is pretty much how it went.

craziness

After a couple months of pulling my hair out,
I am officially working for that home health job.

I've been working there for about a month,
but just barely got on my own.

Right after they hired me,
we realized my CNA license had expired in January.

Usually you just have to send in a form showing that you worked at least 100 hours in a year
and they renew it.

But if you don't do that within 30 days after it's expired,
you have to take the test all over again.
YEAH.
It's $70 to take the test and let me tell you how ridiculous they make this process.

I had to call the Nursing assistant registry to tell them I needed to renew my license.
Because it's been over 30 days I had to retake the test.
SO instead of just paying for it over the phone, or in person,
they make you send the payment in the mail.

That's all the lady I talked to said.
She said to send the payment of $70 in the mail,
and they would send back the list of testing centers and my testing voucher.

So,
I wrote a check and sent it in the mail,
a few days later I received a letter saying that they didn't accept checks.
Call me dumb, but the only other form of payment I knew about through mail was cash.
I didn't want to send $70 cash, but that was all I could think of.
So I sent that.

FINALLY,
even though they called me and said that they don't usually accept cash, but they would this time (this was when I heard about cashiers check...or whatever that's called),
they finally sent me the vouchers.

THEN,
I had to set up a time to take my test.
There were two seperate ones...and the first one wasn't for two weeks and the other one wasn't until two weeks after that.

After taking them both and finally passing them
(Oh yeah..they send the results in the mail too...)
I was able to start my job.

Can I Just say that i absolutely LOVE it?
I don't have co-workers.
It's absolute heaven!
I don't have to deal with rude, inconsiderate people that like to cause problems.

All I need to worry about is making my patients happy.
I love my patients too.
and you wanna know the best of the best part?
The management there is AWESOME!

They, unlike the management at my previous job, don't hunger for control.
They are so awesome and so laid back.
Obviously they would crack down on someone if they weren't performing their job well.
In other words,
If they were receiving negative feedback, or complaints from their patients.

AND they always make sure they show the CNA's appreciation.
They always let the CNA's know that if it wasn't for their hard work,
things would not be going as well.

I gotta say,
I am so so bitter about my last job that I'm really close to writing in to the head of the hospital.
I'm not kidding. I am still so offended and every time I think about it,
I just cannot believe how badly I was treated.

I'm just so glad I was able to get away from them.
I NEVER have to see any of those jerks again!!

My new job is incredible.
I love it and I actually feel like I get to make a difference in someone's life.
These people actually rely on ME to get to bed at night
(since I'm working nights).

I just have to say that I've never found a job more perfect for me.
Especially when i'm a mom.
I work 2- 2/12 hours at the most.
It's so amazing.

If you have someone in your life that is in need of home health or hospice,
let me know and I'll hook you up with the best place around!

****

In other news,
Kali had her Urologist appointment on the 10th.
I know that was a while ago but I am just now finding a few minutes to write it.

Results.
Let's just say I'm a little annoyed that we had to pay $55 dollars for them to tell us what we were told at the very beginning of this whole ordeal.

They are going to put Kali on Antibiotics for a year and test it again.
If she hasn't grown out of it by then,
they are going to do surgery.

She's too little for them to determine whether or not she is going to grow out of it.
They said that a little less thatn 50% of kids do.
So we'll see.

They said that if she get's another UTI before that though,
they will have to do surgery right then.

So...
I'm REALLY paranoid.
Like,
extremely.
This week Kali has had a very very very slight fever.
and she's been really fussy.

SO I took her in.
I really hope she doesn't get another one because I really don't want her to have surgery.
It would be so nice if she just grew out of it.

I would be SOO glad!

***
OH yeah...
Tyson got a $1 raise last week :)

Medical Bills, I know you can't stay away. But the feeling isn't mutual.

Kali has yet ANOTHER UTI.
The antibiotic she was on,
wasn't helping.

Yeah.
Different Bacteria or something.

On a positive note,
{finally},
There was a cancellation at the urologist and Kali's appointment was moved to October 10th.
Hallelujiah.

Home Sweet Hospital

The last few weeks have been ridiculous to say the least.
I swear it's been just one thing after another.

I have come to the realization that the Hospital is our second home.

Let me start off with explaining why I've been MIA as of late.

Our computer broke.
Sad story. I am so sad about it.
BUT,
We don't want to get a new one until we can get a MAC.

I'm SOOO done with HP.

SO,
We're $300 dollars away from it.

We're trying to sell our 1998 Chevy Lumina.
That will help us get that extra $300 quick!

If you are looking to buy a car,
email me and I'll give you some more info!

It's a great car and runs like a champ.
We just don't need it anymore.

Anyway,
Back to the Hospital stuff.
The day our computer broke,
Tyson cut his finger open.
[Before you go any further, I am posting the picture on here. So if you don't want to see what his poor pinky looked like, scroll past the first pic ;)]

It was about 11:00 P.M when this happened
and when I came downstairs, there was blood all over the bathroom.
[for his sake, I won't go in to detail on how this happened. He would be mad at me. ha]

I almost had a heart attack.
I thought my husband was bleeding to death. haha

Then, when I realized it was his finger,
I calmed down a little...but it still freaked me out!

Anyway,
I had to get Kali out of her Crib and we made a late night trip to the ER.

Now, here are the pictures:

Photobucket
Before the stitches.
After the stitches.

Luckily, Kali slept through the entire visit.
We got home at 3:00 AM and instead of going right to bed,
we had some cleaning up to do.

There was blood EVERYWHERE. haha
Everywhere he went before getting in the car, blood followed.

Anyway,
he ended up getting eight stitches.
and they stitched up the vein that was squirting out all the blood as well ;)
graphic words? Yes.

Not even Five days later,
Kali started getting a fever.
By 5 am, she woke up with a fever of 103.

Hence,
another trip to the ER.

Remember how I said she was really Colicky?
She's not.

They found out in the ER that she had a UTI
 (Urinary Tract Infection)

They sent us on our way with a Prescription for Antibiotics.
within a few days,
Kali was a totally different baby.

She's been so happy and laughs WAY more now.
She only cries when she's tired or Hungry....or going to the bathroom. [more on that later as well]
It's apparant to me that she's had the UTI for WAY longer than she had the fever.

Not gonna lie,
I was feeling really bitter towards her Pediatrician and all the people that were saying she was colicky.
I KNEW there was something else going on. I could tell.
Which is why I kept taking her to the Dr.

Anyway,
a couple of weeks after the ER visit,
(this last tuesday),
Her Pediatrician called and said that the ER told him about her visit and he highly recommended that we go in to Primary Childrens to get her an Ultrasound and X-Ray.

He said 30-50% of the infants that get UTI's have something called Vesicoureteral Reflux,
which happens when Kali pushes to pee, or if she has a full bladder, some of the Urine goes back up to the kidneys, which brings more bacteria into the kidneys and when she gets infection, that can cause even more problems in the kidneys.

So,
BACK to the hospital we go.
Her appointment was yesterday.

They did the Ultrasound and Kali was good until they turned her to her tummy.
she HATES being on her Tummy. She screamed her head off until they were all done.
That was supposed to be the easy part!

Next was the X-Ray.
What they had to do was put in a catheter and insert some Dye into her bladder so that it would show up on the X-ray.
That was supposed to be the part she screamed.
instead,
She was SO good through the entire procedure.
It was then that I realized that Kalista is a TOUGH little girl,
she is just DANG spoiled. haha

Anyway,
the girl explained to me what would happen if she did have reflux.
You would see it draining to her kidneys.

Sure enough,
the second she started to insert the dye,
you could see it moving back up towards the kidneys.

and Kali would not pee it back out.
Poor girl. It hurts her to pee, so she was holding it in.

When the radiologist came in to look at it she explained some more.
They rate the severity between a 1-5.
1 being the lowest where they would just need to give her antibiotics for a while and 5 being where they would need to go in and do surgery.

She said by looking at it right there, it looked like she was at a 3.
She said we would most likely just need to give her an antibiotic for a year and then re-evaluate.

A couple of hours later ,
Her pediatrician called and said the Radiologist had reviewed the X-ray and had decided to move her left Kidney up to a Level 4. Her Right was still at a 3.

So,
he gave us antibiotics and referred us to a Urologist who will determine whether or not she will need surgery or want to do the tests again in a few months.

I'm so nervous.
I've had such mixed emotions.
one minute I'm crying and the next I'm so grateful they caught it early.

My aunt had these same problems when she was little,
they didn't catch it in time and she lost a kidney.
I'm SO grateful they caught it early, I just really am not looking forward to hearing that she'll have to have surgery. The Dr thinks that is most likely what will happen.

How am I going to be able to let them just take my baby, sedate her and cause her pain?
I wish SO MUCH that I could do it for her.

The appointment with the Urologist isn't until October 26th either.
Which means I have almost an entire month to anticipate this.
We just started her on Antibiotics today. I hope those will help her feel better at least.

Poor Baby

Last week, especially the weekend,
was a hard one for our little princess.

Since Kali was about two weeks old,
she has been experiencing Acid Reflux.
She throws up constantly.
It worried me for a while that she wasn't gaining weight.
Especially because she would eat,
throw up,
and then act starving again.

She was literally eating every half hour.

As the week went on,
if she was awake,
she was crying.

I hardly got anything done all week
and began to wonder if there was something else wrong with her.

Then,
Thursday night,
she was up every half hour and super fussy.

At about 8 am,
I gave up trying to get anymore sleep and got up.

I fed her and she seemed okay after that.
She was still a little bit fussy, but nothing worse than she'd been all week.
So,
I set her in her bouncer and started doing some Zumba.
She usually loves watching me do that. I am pretty sure it's because I look like a complete moron and she enjoys laughing at me.

This time however,
was different.

She was fussing,
and about 10 minutes into it,
the crying became louder and louder until she was screaming uncontrollably.

It was the saddest cry ever.
I gave up working out and picked her up to try to make her feel better.
It didn't help.
It didn't matter what I did.
I rocked her, bounced her, cuddled her, burped her,
NOTHING.

She was so so upset.
I started to worry a little and after two hours of this,
I called the Dr.
When they heard her crying they told me I needed to come in.

Okay,
I have been to the Doctor so much for her lately and they keep saying that it's just her acid reflux.
So I waste the $20 every visit to just hear them say there is nothing we can do.

But with the way she was crying,
I was really worried that something else was wrong.
Seriously. She went from this adorableness....
Photobucket
Photobucket
and adorable personality,
To uncontrollable crying.
So I packed her in her carseat and went to the Dr.
By the time we got there, she had fallen asleep.

I'm sure from pure exhaustion.

When we got in to the room,
they wanted to weigh her so of course I had to wake her up for that.

Within 30 seconds of waking up,
she was screaming her head off again.
I was pleasantly suprised to find out that she was now 9 pounds 11 ounces.
She has gained almost a pound in less than a month.

That made me feel better about her at least keeping some of her food down.
But it didn't change the fact that she was still obviously in a lot of pain.

After being there for a couple of minutes,
the Dr. Said that it sounded like she had
Pyloric Stenosis.

He said that it's when the muscle in the stomach,
The Pyloris Spinchter,
stays contracted and causes the child to not keep anything down,
to be in a lot of pain,
and throw up a lot.

He sent us to primary childrens so she could have an ultrasound.
I was so relieved.
I felt like we had finally figured out what was wrong with my poor baby.
I felt like we had finally figured out how to make her feel better.

To Fix this problem means surgery.
That would've been hard,
but if it meant Kalista feeling better,
then that's what would have to be done.

When we got there,
they did the ultrasound and
everything was normal.

It wasn't Pyloric Stenosis.
The only good thing about this was that she wasn't going to need surgery.
But that was it.
We still didn't know what it was.

Kali was STILL screaming at this point.
she was still so upset.
SO,
They sent us to the ER.

2 Hours and $170 later,
they concluded that she is just Colicky and her Acid Reflux is really bad.

I don't like that result.
You know why?

Because there is NOTHING we can do to fix it.
Kali just has to sit there and be in pain and there is nothing I can do to get rid of it.

She finally calmed down by around 2:30.
and fell asleep for a while.
When she woke up from that nap...
she was all of the sudden happy again!
(for about a half hour)

Honestly,
the worst thing ever is seeing your child in pain and knowing there is nothing you can do to make them feel better.

We were given Medicine for the reflux,
but it doesn't seem to help.

I've had a few friends offer some tips,
so I'm going to try those and hope they work.

I'm okay not getting sleep.
I planned on that because obviously that comes with having a baby.
I don't care about that.

But I do care about the way she feels.
and she has obviously been in pain!
I bought some Enfamil that was made specifically for spit up.
I gave her some right before we put her to bed,
and kept her sitting up and forward for about 15 minutes...

and this was the result...
Photobucket
She slept for 7 hours.
SEVEN!

That is the longest she has slept since she's been born.
I was SO glad that we found something that helped get her to sleep...
at night.

(at least it's helped the last two nights)
I am still breastfeeding and I only give her formula at night.
I do NOT want to stop breastfeeding.
I really don't.

So we have been trying some other ways of calming her down during the day.
So far,
We've found two things.

Her Car seat,
as long as she is moving in it.
Like being in the car. That usually helps.

Or,
This little contraption...

Photobucket
This thing puts her to sleep in five minutes.
Which is understandable.
She's upright so the acid isn't as bad.

I want my poor baby to start feeling better!!

Still Alive and Kickin!

Okay so It's been a while since I have posted.
We have been SOO busy.
That's even an understatement.

Seriously.
I haven't found one second to breathe until RIGHT NOW!

Since my last post we have-

- Moved into our new house
- Celebrated the 4th of July
-Celebrated my Birthday
- Quit my job
- and had Kali's two month Dr Check up which = SHOTS :'(

New House

YES
We are officially all moved in.
It feels SOOO GOOD to be on our own again.
As much as we appreciated my parents for letting us live with them for FREE,
(we were able to save up a good amount of money because of them!)
I feel like I can finally be the mother and wife that I want to be.

We finally get to be our own little family <3

We still have some decorating to do.
I'm pretty much done with the main stuff.
I just need to get some more picture for our frames
and then Decorate the Nursery and our bedroom.

I had all of these plans to make Kali's room SOO cute.
I could see the vision in my head.

Princess and the Frog.

BUT,
I'm kind of a cheap skate when it comes to money...
So today, after looking around for some cute bedding for her Crib,
I just gave in to a cheap one at Target.

It's the same colors as the room,
and does go with the theme and all,
but I wanted her room to be more Elegant than it is going to be.

I was hoping for just a bunch of WHITE RUFFLY bedding.
But I didn't want to spend that much on it.
I have recently picked up couponing which doesn't help my 'cheap skate' situation at all either!

haha.
But that's okay.
Kali doesn't really care about her room right now,
so quite frankly,
I'm not going to waste a bunch of money on something that she won't get to even enjoy.

My vision of her nursery could have EASILY been more than $1000.
I'm not gonna do it!

SO,
we'll see how my cheaper version turns out.
and I'll take pictures of the entire house when it's ALL completely done.

4th of July

The Day we left for St George,
We received a package in the mail from my Aunt Julie from Idaho.

She had sent us this ADORABLE Dress for Kali for the 4th of July

Isn't is so cute?

We went to my parents house for a bbq, swimming and fireworks that day.
It was so fun!
Kali met some if her friends for the first time :)

Kali and Luke

Kali and Jada

I love Independence day!
It's one of my favorite holidays.

My Birthday
My birthday was very laid back.
It was fun though and I really enjoyed the day.

My friend Chelsie,
Took me to Iggys for lunch.

It was SOO yummy and so fun to catch up with her.

When Tyson got home from work we went to Dinner with my parents, my Oma and my Aunt MJ.
We went to Cheesecake Factory.
MMMm it was so dang delish.
I love that place immensely.

When we got back to my parents house my little sister had made me a suprise cake.
my favorite cake btw.
haha.

I got lots of gifts!
One of which was a shirt from my sister that i'm wearing right now actually! ha

Quit my Job

YES that is correct.
and it feels SOOO good!
I couldn't stand that place any longer.

They were SOO rude to me during my pregnancy.
Like intolerabley rude about everything.
(and it's the WOMENS CENTER!? Wouldn't you think they'd be more understanding?)
I put my two weeks in the day before my first day back.
and my last day was yesterday.

can I get a HALLELUJIAH!?

I just got a less than part time job with a home health company instead,
which is only about three hours a day.
and I'm pretty sure it's not everyday.
I also am taking care of my Oma three times a week.

you have no idea what a happy camper I am.
I am pretty much a stay at home mom.
Kali comes with me when I take care of my Oma
So life is good!
I seriously love my life.

....except for this next part...
Kali's Dr Appointment

Kali had her Dr appointment on Wednesday.
Saddest day ever.
I'm not even kidding.

She had to get her shots.
She's a good baby.
Especially considering that she has epic Acid Reflux.

When the nurse gave her the THREE shots...
oh my gosh.
I've never heard he cry so hard in her life.

Her face turned red,
along with the not breathing inbetween cries.

It was horrible.
I started crying too.
like I had tears running down my face.
I felt stupid and kept apologizing to the nurse for crying but it was SO sad.
I just hated seeing her go through that.

The shots affected her until today.
She's finally back to her normal self.
She was so fussy yesterday, Thursday and for the rest of the day on Wednesday.

I don't ever want to go through that again.
It was so so sad.
and these last few days,
the only thing that seemed to make her feel better,
was a bath with mommy.

Anyway,
That's the update on our life right now!

We love it :)

OH PS,
I just made this blog public again.
You can read the post on my other blog if you want the explanation!

Like mother, Like Daughter

Kali hasn't been sleeping very well for the last couple of weeks.
Let me rephrase.
She sleeps GREAT during the day,
mostly while she's in her car seat or being held.
But at night,
she doesn't sleep.
at first,
she would just be awake and make noises.
She wanted to play.
But as the nights have gone on,
she's become more and more fussy.
and the last couple of weeks,
She's been super gassy and spits up a good amount when she eats.
The last few days,
I haven't even been able to put her down for more than 5 minutes without her
not only CRYING, but SCREAMING.
like screaming bloody murder.
I couldn't even DO tummy time because it made me pretty much cry.
She was obviously in pain.
Yesterday,
I went to the hospital to visit one of my friends.
I was telling them about her issues and realized it'd been almost 6 days since she's pooped.
After asking the nursery nurse about it,
having her feel her belly
and taking a rectel temperature with no results,
I decided to call the Doctor.
It was three o'clock and they had us come in at four.
We got there and while we were in the room waiting for her Doctor to come in,
I decided to feed her since she was crying and it was time.
She ate really well,
but was moaning and acting uncomfortable the whole time.
When the Doctor came in,
he checked her and decided pretty quickly that she [most likely] has Acid reflux.
I have acid reflux too.
she gets it from me and I couldn't feel worse for her!
Acid reflux SUCKKSS!!!
He said her belly feels fine and the reason she mostly likely hasn't pooped,
is because her body needs every single calorie she is eating.
He said it can take ten days sometimes.
He said that if I cut out dairy and gave her the medicine he prescribed,
I would start noticing a difference in 48 hours.
okay cutting out dairy is like...
impossible for me! Seriously it's SO HARD!
haha all I eat is cheese.
But when you think about it,
it's a win-win situation.
I'll lose weight doing this!
Kali seems like she's feeling better today.
she isn't a fan of her medicine and I laugh everytime I give it to her because she makes the funniest faces you'll ever see.
I'll record it and put it on here next time.
She is still really spitty though.
I hope that gets better soon.

37 weeks

I'll be 37 weeks in two days.
I'm saying I'm 37 weeks!

The last week or so has been the longest of my life!!
I swear I've been 37 weeks for a month!
haha.
I don't think I would feel this way if my little girl wasn't such a tease!

Let me explain.

Last Tuesday,
I was 35, almost 36 weeks.
Working at the hospital, I know that if a baby is born at 36 weeks, they are most likely going to be healthy and not have to go to the NICU.

So when I discovered that my Mucus plug came out on Tuesday,
I was really excited.
(if this is TMI for you, I am sorry. I work at the hospital and this is normal language I use everyday! haha)

From what I've HEARD,
when your mucus plug comes out,
you will be having the baby within the next few days.

Well,
I was REALLY excited and began preparing the final touches for Kalista to come.
Then the next day,
I went to work and when I got off at 7,
I met my sisters and aunt at a place called Firehouse pizza in Centerville.

My aunt lives in Farmington and when we finished dinner,
my sister BreeAnn and I decided to walk the 4 miles back to my aunts house.
BreeAnn is going to visit her husband who is out of town for work next week and wants the baby to be born before then! haha

So I was pretty much planning on her coming by the weekend.
The next day, we walked again to the nail salon to get a pedicure.

I probably walked a total of 6 miles in those two days.
My Dr appointment was on Friday.

I was dilated to a 1+ on sunday.
My Dr told me that I had not changed when I went in for my appointment on Friday.

WHAT!? You mean those 6+ miles I walked and my mucus plug coming out did nothing!??!
I was not happy.

My dr. told me that my mucus plug coming out means my body is preparing and moving in the right direction, but it doesn't guarantee that I will go into labor soon.

I was extremely disappointed.
and even more disappointed when I went to schedule an induction date and they told me that they were full until June 1st.

I cried when we left.
ha I was not happy!

I wasn't even 37 weeks here, but because my baby likes to tease me, I was thinking she was coming soon!!

Anyway, here's my [almost] 37 week picture

I'm SO big! I feel like this baby is going to be 20 pounds!
haha good thing Tyson was making me laugh during this picture...

****

Mothers day was yesterday!
First mothers day that I've been actually able to call myself a MOM!

I worked from 7am-3pm So Tyson gave me my gift on Saturday night.
It was highly unexpected!

I had just gotten home from a baby shower that my Sister and Aunt threw for me,
and Tyson asked me if I wanted to go on a walk.

OF COURSE I DID!
It was a beautiful day on Saturday.

So we went for a walk and I wanted to stop and cuddle with him at the park by our house.
So we went and sat on the hill and were talking.
He brought up mothers day and said
"I wish you didn't work tomorrow. But since you do, I want to give you your present early"
and he pulled out a little box.

I was so excited and almost started crying when I opened it and there was this GORGROUS  necklace inside:

This is seriously the best picture I could get.
I think it's to sparkly to get a good picture.
It's SOOOO much prettier than the picture.

I love him.

It was a really good mothers day!
Especially because I didn't have to work ALL DAY (until 7), like normal.

Happy Mothers Day to all of you mommys!!

I am so blessed

Well,
Tomorrow I will be 36 weeks.
Just one more week until I can start TRYING to get her to come.

It's been kinda rough the past few days.
This stage of the pregnancy is the EXTREMELY uncomfortable stage.

Now let me tell you,
I would prefer this over the nausea and vomitting ANY DAY!
I think this trimester is the best so far.

However,
that does not mean that I don't get EXTREMELY irritable at times.

I seriously feel like ripping my hair out someimes because
a- I can't sleep
and
b- It doesn't matter which way I'm sitting/standing/laying, I am ALWAYS uncomfortable.

I'm one of those people that need comfort.
Like, I would prefer to NOT wear heels and be comfortable, then to wear heels and get blisters and have uncomfortable feet.

But when it all comes down to it,
the emotion I've been feeling the most lately is pure EXCITEMENT.
Because of this, my impatient personality is getting the best of me!!

Let me just kinda give you a run down some moments I've had this past week.
I worked a regular 12 hour shift on Friday
(btw, thanks to HR, my boss has [mostly] backed off)

because Tyson doesn't have school on Fridays,
he gets home before me.

When I got home,
The house was clean and when I went into our bedroom I found this on the bed:

I love suprises like this.
My husband works all day and then comes home, cleans the house and gives me THIS!

We went on a date that night with Stefanie and her husband
and then I couldn't WAIT to go to bed because I was so anxious for the next day.
I was having my first baby shower! :):)

When I woke up,
Tyson was already out of bed.
I could smell breakfast cooking and envied my siblings upstairs.
They were getting some yummy breakfast by the smells of it!

I wasn't sure where Tyson was, but I just got out of bed and started getting ready for the baby shower.

When I was about done with my hair,
the bathroom door opens, Tyson is holding a spatula and says
"Breakfast is about ready"

He made me breakfast! That's what I was smelling!
I quickly finished my hair and went into the kitchen.
He had made the most DELICIOUS breakfast I've had in a long time...and he cleaned it up too!

I love my husband.
He's so good to me and treats me so dang well!

My baby shower went so great!
Thanks to my incredible visiting teachers,
it turned out so cute!

The decorations were so cute and creative.
The refreshement table was my favorite:

Isn't that the cutest cupcake idea ever??

We got so many gifts there!
It was so fun.

I was texting Tyson through the whole thing,
telling him the gifts we were getting and sending him pictures of the ones he wanted to see.

After I sent him one of the last pictures
(which was a picture of a swimsuit for Kali),
He said this

"That is WAY CUTE! All of is stuff is making me excited. I can't wait Andee :) I'm feeling really funny inside.."

haha I laughed forever after reading that last part.
I LOVE how excited he is.
I then showed my mom the text and she took the liberty of reading it out loud to everyone
(SHH don't tell Tyson...he doesn't know I've been sharing it with people. haha)

Anyway,
the rest of that day pretty much involved us organizing Kali's stuff.
It's getting quite crowded in this room!!

On Sunday,
I had to work :(
I only had to work 8 hours this time though and was off at 3pm.

Tyson and I decided to go visit my Oma that day and drove out to Farmington.
I had been having contractions all day,
but they weren't really consistent or close together.
However,
while we were visiting with my Aunt,
They got really bad.

To the point where I wanted to cry.

We ended up leaving and going to the hospital on the way home.
I was trying to decide whether or not we should.
I kept going back and forth on my decision, but decided that I'd rather be safe than sorry!

We got there, they admit me to a room and sure enough, for the second time, I was contracting.
(I don't remember if I posted about this, but I was in the hospital at the beginning of April too...the day after my Opa died. I was contracting then as well.)

They wanted to give me the shot they gave me at the beginning of April..But I kinda refused.
I HATED the way that shot made me feel last time and I really didn't want to get it again.
They said that was fine and they understood and they would give me a morphine and phenegren shot instead.

I said okay...but at the same time was disappointed that they had to stop it.
like I said, my impatient personality is getting the best of me!!

After that, the contractions got worse for about a half hour,
and then after that they completely left and I fell asleep....
That morphine totally wiped me out.

I was completely out of it after that, but the contractions were gone and they sent me home.
We got home around midnight..and I had to wake up at 5:30 for work.

I cannot tell you how miserable of a day of work was!
I have NEVER been so tired during work in my LIFE.
I really don't know how I made it through.

A lady I work with that I love,
threw me a baby shower yesterday as well.
We got some more gifts and I hope she knew how grateful I was!!

When I got home,
(which I'm not sure how i was able to drive home without falling asleep)
I went to bed.

I got home around nine and I slept until 8:30 this morning.
I can't believe how long I slept!

I've hardly seen Tyson though.
He had school yesterday until 10 pm and had to wake up this morning at 3 am!!
He's such a busy hard workin man!

Good thing I don't work today and I get to see him tonight when he gets off work..cause he only has school twice a week!

OFFICIALLY 3rd Trimester

I am OFFICIALLY in my 3rd Trimester now.
and Kali is letting me know that,
by making sure she's got her legs nice and jammed right up inside my ribs.

They're already bruised! haha.
Does this mean she is going to be a big baby?
I hope not. I like little ones.
They stay that way for longer.

I took my glucose test last week.
So far I haven't heard anything back,
So pretty much I passed :)

I will post a picture later.
Tyson is working and at school ALWAYS so he isn't around to take a picture.
I'll have him do it tonight though!!

27 weeks

13 weeks to go!

I had a Dr Appointment today.

It's been a rough week.
My sciatic nerve has not been my friend.
It started hurting on Friday last week, and by Monday of this week, I could hardly walk.

Then,
yesterday I was in so much pain, I set up an appointment with one of my co-workers (suz),
who is also a massage therapist.

She works at this place called Salt Lake Prenatal Massage.
She told me she could help make it better.
I talked to the manager of the store yesterday to give her all of my information and I asked her if there was something I could do to help make the pain bareable until the massage.

She gave me this exercise that she said makes it better for some,
but she couldn't guarantee it would work.

I decided to give it a try.
well,
I regretted it.

I ended up in tears by the end of it because it just made it worse.
I could hardly even sit in my bed and almost ended up sleeping in our [new :)] rocking chair last night.

Thanks to Tyson,
he helped me get in bed!

So today I went to the Dr and he wrote a prescription for me to go see a physical therapist.
I called...and they are booked until NEXT friday.
DUDE,
that is a week and a day away.

I can't wait that long.
So I crossed my fingers that this massage would work.
I just got home..and IT WORKED.

I mean, the pain isn't completely gone,
but it's manageable enough for me to walk without crying out in pain.

After the Dr, before the massage,
I was really emotional.
I was so upset because I felt like this pregnancy is killing me.
The last one was NOTHING compared to this.
I just feel like it's one thing after another.
My sciatic nerve hurt with Avery, but NOTHING like this.

I was driving on the freeway and was just thinking about all of this.
and then I started thinking about what the reason it.
Like, what the outcome is going to be.

and It's worth it.
It's so hard, and so painful and uncomfortable and miserable,
but the result in the end is going to be worth it.
I just need to keep reminding myself that.
I need to keep remembering that I'm getting MY baby.
She will be mine and the pain I'm feeling isn't forever.

The last pregnancy wasn't this bad
and I think that was a blessing.
I wasn't getting a baby out of it.
But this time,
I am :)
